Bush's 2006 Proposal: Catastrophe for Rural Communities,
Especially St. Lawrence County

This research is primarily based on President George Bush's 2006 Budget Proposal and how it will affect St. Lawrence County. Bush decreases the HUD budget by 11%, cutting programs and increasing other ones that should not increase funding. There are two programs that are evaluated: Community Development Block Grants and Section 8 Housing Vouchers. CDBGs are being cut, which is vital to St. Lawrence County and the Section 8 Housing Voucher program is increasing funding which is a reckless program. The 2006 Budget is going to hurt St. Lawrence County.
