Faculty members Dr. Ed Harcourt (Program Chair) and Dr. Choong-Soo Lee accompanied three computer science majors; Guinevere Gilman '19, Angelica Munyao '19, and Matthijs van Merlo '19 to the Twenty-Third Annual Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges Northeastern Conference at the University of New Hampshire at Manchester on April 20 and April 21, 2018. On Friday morning, Guinevere, Angelica and Matthijs participated in a programming contest with about 30 colleges and universities from the Northeast.

On April 29 - 30, 2016 Choong-Soo Lee, assistant professor of computer science, and Ed Harcourt, associate professor of computer science, accompanied four Computer Science Majors; Skyler Ng '16 of Flushing, New York; Madison Rusch '17 of Minnetonka, Minnesota; Charlie Waters '18 of Durham, Vermont; and Sean Godard '16 of Bombay, New York to the  Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges Northeastern Conference Northeastern Region which was held at Hamilton College.

Skyler Ng '16 presented a poster from her Senior-Year Experience with advisor Lisa Torrey, associate professor of computer science, titled “Securing Common Software Vulnerabilities.” The four students also participated in a programming contest with 30 colleges and universities from around the Northeast.

During April 2015 Dr. Choong-Soo Lee, professor of Computer Science and four Computer Science majors; Soukaina Alami Idrissi ('17), Sean Godard ('16), Madison Rusch ('17), Charlie Waters ('18,)  attended the 2015 Northeast Regional Consortium for Computing Sciences  (CCSC) in Colleges conference at the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, MA.  Soukaina, Sean and Charlie Waters competed in the programming contest at the conference.

Find more information about the conference at the 2015 CCSCNE web site.

On April 20, 2011, SLU Professor Dr. Lisa Torrey and Computer Science Majors: Tansy Peplau and Dave Deyo recently attended the Northeast Regional Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges (CCSC) conference at Western New England College. Dr. Torrey presented a paper titled Student interest and choice in programming assignments

On April 16-17, 2010, Eleven students and three professors traveled to the University of Hartford to attend the Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges (CCSCNE). This year, the keynote speaker was Fran Allen, the first woman to receive the Turing Award (the Turing Award is considered to be the equivalent of a Nobel Prize in Computer Science) which was nice for our students since SLU often has a high proportion of women CS majors.
