To Jill Pflugheber '86, St. Lawrence is all in the family. Pflugheber
returned to her alma mater several years ago as a microscopy technician,
and teaches in the biology department. She's also served as
faculty mentor for a number of students doing independent research
projects.
If the University has a feeling of "home" to her, it's
understandable. Pflugheber's grandparents, Edward '30 and Fern '29;
her parents, Joan '53 and Edward '52; and her older siblings Gina
'77 and Ellen '80, along with aunts and cousins, all went to St.
Lawrence before her. She visited St. Lawrence years before matriculating,
participating in riding camps during the summers, and was a member
of the riding club as an undergraduate. A psychology major
at St. Lawrence, Pflugheber's research in microbiology has been published
in a number of scientific journals.
