The Calm of Finals

I adore finals week. No sarcasm intended. It's true that the prospect of a December and most of January away from exams, 8:30 classes and the 24-hour-room sounds appealing. But really, finals week was wonderful, and it marked a welcome close to a whirlwind semester I still can’t grasp is over.

Crunch Time

This is it...the last week of classes for the Fall semester...or should I say, the last four days.  We don't have class on Friday because it's "reading day," so we have a little bit more than just a weekend to learn everything we need to learn for those Monday finals.  My brother goes to Cornell, and they get more of a reading week, which I think would be nice and I would definitely take advantage of it, but I suppose there are many who would not, so this is the way it goes.

Who you gonna call?? GHOST BUSTERS!

Pumpkins. Hay bails. Ghosts. Candy. Costumes. These words describe everything about campus this past week. There was a noticeable air of excitement throughout the student body as everybody worked busily through classes in the anticipation of Halloween weekend! The week started on Monday, when I went to go see the film contest show in the Student Center. Students were given 24 hours to create a film, edit it, and submit it. The next day, the six groups that made films were able to present them to the student body. They were amazing!

Planting Trees and Backpacking

This past week was somewhat of a shock to most of campus because of all the rain that we received! One night there was a pretty intense lightning storm and most of my house was outside on the porch watching the whole event. The rain came at a good time though since most people had exams throughout the week. I spent most of my time in the library catching up on work and getting a jump on studying for exams. It's hard to believe that we only have a little less than a month of school left! The weather finally got better for the weekend (sort of).

Frost on the Ground!

The nights are cooling, the leaves are falling, and it frosted this morning! It's Monday again and I'm studying for yet another mid-term exam, this time in Global Studies. It's my last one and will be very relieved when Wednesday comes marking the start of Mid-Semester Break! The library is full, everyone is studying, and the pub might be running out of coffee. Yet, in the midst of a stressful time on campus, the leaves continue to change more everyday, and are starting to accumulate on the ground.
