      In a speech I gave to admitted students during a visit days in late April, I tried to convey what is unique about being a part of St. Lawrence University. I mentioned but failed to fully explain the feeling of place St. Lawrence students experience when pulling off route 11 into Canton.

A strange scenario, you might be thinking. Am I just
carrying around a wad of useless change? In some ways, yes. But in others, no.
Since November a single bill has stuck with me and has served as a constant
reminder of the time I spent in Europe in the fall of 2011.

There's a lot on the minds of St. Lawrence students lately.
Spring break is only two weeks away, midterms are looming in the near future,
and our first major snow storm of spring semester hit Canton this afternoon and
many people, yours truly included, are looking forward to a weekend of quality
skiing. In the meantime though, our administration is working hard to come up with a plan for the future of SLU.

The Admissions office, I learned quickly this summer, is as busy smiling, hand shaking and tour-guiding on Saturdays as it is through the week. But each Saturday we work, lucky us, earns one possibility-filled weekday off. Walking endless circles along the campus tour route so close to the actual North Country outdoors has left me itching to do some exploring. And each of my days off is another awesome chance.

Hi! I’m Molly, and I’m thrilled to be starting this blog from a mostly-sunny summer at St. Lawrence. I’d tell you my nickname, since there are two of us Molly’s blogging this year, but nothing’s stuck yet save Mulan (an interesting variation of MoLunn…hm) and you’re welcome to help me out there while I introduce you to my life.
