Spring Fever

St. Lawrence University

I am ready for spring!

While I love the snow covered campus and wearing ear-muffs, I am looking forward to thawing out over the next few months!  I absolutely love the first week that the temperature rises because everyone is outside and around campus.  No one appreciates warm weather like a St. Lawrence student!

Here Chelsea, Katie and I are outside the Jenks suite braving the cold!

Bear's Birthday

It was our friend Bear's Jimmy Buffet birthday!

We had a great time and it was a beautiful day...

BUT I am fairly positive we were all thinking how nice it would have been if it was a few degrees warmer!

This is from fall semester and taken as we walk (and bike) through the enchanted or forbidden forest (pick whatever nickname you like best!) by Herring-Cole!

Not long now and spring will be upon us!  I can't wait to trade puffy jackets for tank tops and soak in the last few months at SLU.  It has been a busy week and everyone is caught in the beginning of the semester rush.  LOST (my favorite TV show) has begun its final season and in between writing short stories and painting I have been trying to decipher the first two episodes.  Every theory I come up with changes by the time I have seen the next episode!

In my Techniques of Fiction writing class I am working on a tight plot short story.  It is much more difficult than I anticipated and I am having a tough time pulling the ending together.  A tight plot narrative should have a huge revelation occur on the final page and make the reader say Ahhh, I should have seen that coming! Hopefully I can pull some narrative strings and make the pieces fall into place quickly.. it is due tomorrow!

Best Wishes & Spring Thoughts,

Haley
