Hockey, Exams & Glitter Oh My!

St. Lawrence University

Friday night SLU men's hockey team tied Clarkson 3-3 at Appleton arena.  I had to miss the game.  Ultimately, I decided that raising my blood pressure right before taking a very important exam was not the best idea!  Instead, I was forced to religiously check the Saints live online update.  Thank you technology!

Saturday morning I woke up at 5:30 a.m., unable to fall back asleep and completely filled with pre-exam jitters.  The test did not begin until 8:30 a.m.!  When it was finally time to drive to campus and walk into the auditorium my nerves reached an all time high.  Nothing could calm me down as I waited in line to be checked in and finger-printed.  Nothing, that is, until I was given my seat assignment.  Number 7 happens to be my family's lucky number.  Being told, by the woman guarding the gates to the exam, that I was required to sit in seat 7 definitely felt like a sign!

Five hours later....

I arrived back at my sorority house to countless cheers, congratulatory cards (one even sings!) and hugs.  The overwhelming support I received from my friends meant more to me than I can hope to convey. Thank you all!  The rest of the day I prepared for our Gatsby Formal and relaxed.

It was a wonderful night out and a perfect way to celebrate accomplishing my goal: LSAT mission complete!

Best Wishes & Jay Gatsby,

Haley

Good to see a KCer at Larryland

Haley,

I was just strolling through the blogs, and found yours. My wife and I met, or senior yearat SLU and graduated in 1963. We live in Overland Park (KS for the strangers looking at this) and have since 1973. We don't hear of many people going to SLU from this area. Congratulations on picking this excellent school

I hope your experiences atudying in Canton do as well for you as they did for me. Make good use of the international contacts you made in London. In addition to a good education many things happen because you know someBODY not someTHING.

Good Luck

Ray Olsen
