Mid Semester & Beyond

St. Lawrence University

It seems crazy that Mid Semester break has already come and gone!  I flew out of Syracuse Airport on last Thursday morning and landed at Reagan National Airport.  My weekend became an all out sprint through the sites of D.C.!

Friday we got a tour of the Capitol through my Missouri representative Sam Graves' office.  Patrick and I also visited the Library of Congress and the National Symphony Orchestra.

Saturday it rained non stop but we managed to see every monument on our list!  It was unbelievable to visit the National Mall and actually stand on the exact spot where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. told the nation that he had a dream.  We visited the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, Korean War Memorial, World War II Memorial and the White House!  By the end of our day we were drenched, but it was worth it!

I flew back to Syracuse late Sunday night and used my time at the airport to get ready for the week!  Tonight there is a senior class dinner with the Board of Trustees.  I am really looking forward to meeting the Board and learning more about their SLU experiences!

Halloween is fast approaching and I am still debating which costume to choose!  My sorority hosts an event called Apple Polishing with the Canton community.  We invite all the families in the area to come over and bob for apples, race for donuts and paint pumpkins!  I look forward to it every year!

Best Wishes & Warm Fires,
Haley
