Autumn is right around the corner...

St. Lawrence University

The academic year has begun!  So many updates to share....

On Sunday, August 23rd (it already seems like such a long time ago!) the Class of 2013 received a warm welcome to campus.  You could feel all of the energy and excitement in the air.  Take a look at photos of Orientation here:  http://www.stlawu.edu/albums/orientation09/
The weather was unfortunately not cooperating on Sunday, hence why you'll notice the Matriculation ceremony (one of many SLU traditions) was held indoors this year.

Here in the admissions office, we are all planning our Fall "travel season" as we like to call it.  Eric, our Director of Internation Admissions, is already visiting schools in Europe.  The rest of us will be hitting the road shortly...attending college fairs, visiting high schools, and conducting interviews off campus.  If you are a high school junior or senior reading this, visit this link to find your counselor http://www.stlawu.edu/admis/contact.html.  E-mail us to see if we'll be visiting your 'neck of the woods' this Fall!

Flags on QuadToday, on my walk to work, I passed by the Quad (center of campus) and came across a 9-11 tribute, organized by the SLU Republicans.  Over 3,000 American flags were spread all over the quad to commemorate lives lost on September 11th, 2001.  Take a look:

Flags on Quad

After I saw this memorial on the Quad, I noticed two things which always tell me "Fall is in the air":  the beautiful fall foliage, and the red and yellow Mums planted all over campus.

How wonderful that the SLU

How wonderful that the SLU students took the time to remember 9/11 in such a thoughtful way. It means a lot to those of from NYC. Thank you.
