It (finally) feels like summer in Canton!

St. Lawrence University

Greetings!

It has been a while since my last post; so much has happened in the past few weeks!  We bid adieu to the Class of 2009 in late May - hard to believe it has already been a month since graduation.

Summer has officially arrived in Canton!  A few of my favorite things on and around campus in the summertime:

- Obviously, everyone in Canton is embracing the nice weather!  Yesterday was the first day people (including myself) were complaining of the humidity.

- The Canton Farmers Market!  Every Tuesday and Friday, you can walk to the center of town (10 minute walk from the heart of campus) and buy locally grown produce, breads, flowers, listen to live music, get a massage, or even take part in a yoga session.  (Check out my old blog about the Farmers Market).  Today, I walked to the farmers market with our Front Desk Receptionist and we bought lots of goodies and stumbled upon Jennifer McCluskey, who is an interviewer in our office.  She is a photographer and was selling some of her photos.

- The students on campus this summer.  There are 27 Universtiy Fellows and 9 McNair Scholars on campus (they get to live in the Townhouses).  Check out this link for more information:

In our office, we have six outstanding students who are working in our office as interns.  If you visit campus and take an official campus tour, one of our six interns will be your tour guide! Yesterday, I took some snapshots of our interns hard at work:

I caught Alex Showerman '10 (left) and Lauren Reed '11 (right)  taking advantage of the nice weather while working on a project outside our office.

Here, Abid Amiri '11(left) and Lyndsay LaBarge '10 (right) stayed inside and re-designed the bulletin board in the foyer of our office.

Lyndsay LaBarge '10 (left), Jordyn Buzza '11 (center) and Beth Dixon '10 (right) responding to inquiries from prospective students.

More to come soon!
