What's Your Favorite Building on Campus?

St. Lawrence University

While out on tour or just wandering around SLU's campus, I often wonder
which buildings people claim as their favorites. With such a beautiful
campus, there's no way we could limit it down to just one. So I thought
I'd poll the office and see what buildings made the favorites list among
the admissions crew.

Here's what they said:

Sam Rakoc, Admissions Intern: “Not to sound like a jock or
anything, but I really like Newell Fieldhouse. It’s a newer building and
everything just looks nice.”

John Montgomery, Admissions Intern: “Richardson. Hands
down.”

Kate Aseltine, Admissions Intern: “The Artist Guild but the
chapel is another one of my favorites.”

Lyndsay LaBarge, Assistant Director: “I love so many for so many different reasons BUT I
think the Student Center is my top!"

Claire Alai, Part Time Interviewer: “The library. I spent a
lot of time there as a student.”

Kelsey Fisher, Assistant Director: “I really like the
chapel.”

Kevin Mathes, Senior Assistant Director: "The student center."

Alison Almasian, Director of Admissions: "Herring Cole."

Al Gotsch, Associate Director: "Augsbury. I spend a lot of time over there with athletics."

Ann Barrett, Executive Assistant to the Dean: "Payson Hall of course!
I've worked three jobs here. This building and I go way back."

There you have it! The office has spoken. As you can see there are many
different options to choose from. As for me, I have to agree with Ann.
Payson Hall, our admissions building, is my favorite building on campus.
Outside and in, I'm always impressed with Payson's appearance. I'm very
happy that it is one of the first impressions students get to have of
SLU. The work atmosphere here is friendly, fun, and open and its been a
pleasure to spend my summer here as an intern.
