A MAASV Barbecue...
I
am extremely excited to be writing my first blog of the year and share my
experiences. Here at SLU we have the wonderful opportunity to become
active members of campus with over 100
student clubs and organizations. One of the organizations which I am
apart of on campus is Male Athletes Against Sexual Violence (MAASV). The
goal of the organization is to create awareness about sexual violence and the
role that males can have in preventing it. This past Friday, we had the
first MAASV barbecue of the year. It was a chance for students on campus to
come and meet some of the members and also enjoy some great free food while learning about MAASV.
It
really has been perfect weather for a BBQ almost everyday so far this semester
but I am excited about the start of fall.
It really is a beautiful time of the year here at St. Lawrence. I
still can’t believe the end of September is almost here; the first month of
school has really flown by. One of the reasons for that is because all my
classes are really great and interesting this semester. I'm officially
taking my last required course for my psychology major and it's really hard
to believe. As we near the beginning of October the thing that first comes
to mind is the start of basketball season, which is on October 15. All the
guys on the team are getting really excited and we've been taking full
advantage of the athletic facilities here at SLU to get ready. Also to pass the time we have decided to
partake in some Intramural football. You can here all about that in next week’s
blog!
