Just a week ago the theatrical production of Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl debuted in Gulick Theatre. The story uses a modern approach to the famous Greek myth, Orpheus. Directed by Professor Kirk Fuoss and performances from very talented St. Lawrence students I was impressed by the imagination, hard work, and time that was put into the play. It most certainly paid off! Bravo to those that were part of the production!

Prior to the play I was able to catch the Men's hockey team tie against Brown University in overtime. Appleton Arena was jam-packed with students, faculty members, and the Canton community. Receiving an uproar from the crowd the Saints were able to keep the opponent out of their end finishing with a tie. This weekend the Men are away at Dartmouth and Harvard while the Women face both teams on home ice.
Okay, so here is some very helpful advice if you ever attend a hockey game at Appleton: Don't eat dinner before you go, plan on eating there! THEY HAVE THE BEST HOT DOGS! When I was younger I always came with my parents to see my older sister, Whitney who played on the team from 2001-2005. My brothers Spencer and Cooper would always greet us in the stands each with a hot dog in hand. At the time I made fun of them for ever buying a hot dog in a hockey rink and they told me not to mock it until I tried it. Well, not until my freshman year at St. Lawrence did I step up to the challenge. Ever since, I've been double-fisting those delicious puppies every game I attend. Not only is the food surprisingly good at Appleton but I've really enjoyed the delicacy's offered at Dana Dining Hall and The Pub. I love going to Dana if I'm in the mood for a home cooked type meal or going to The Pub when I want a quick bite to eat.

On Sunday I traveld an hour and a half to the Olympic Center, "The Home of the Miracle On Ice" in Lake Placid, NY to see the Women's Four Nations Championship game between Canada and the United States. I was able to see two former St. Lawrence graduates forward, Gina Kingsbury '03 and defense woman, Annie Guay '08. I was able to witness yet another exciting game head into overtime except that this one went into a nail biting shootout. Eventually, U.S.A. came ahead with a one goal lead that would upset Canada.
