87th Annual Candlelight Service

Tonight I attended the 87th Annual Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols in Gunnison Memorial Chapel. The evening began with singing from the Laurentian Singers followed by a warm welcome from the University Chaplain, the Reverend Kathleen Buckley. The pews were filled by administration members and their families, students, and the surrounding community. The Candlelight Service is one of the University's longest held and most cherished traditions where just over 200 candles are lit in the dark. With the candlelight illuminating the holiday decorations and a harmonious song from the crowd it was just what I needed during these final two weeks.

I already have one class finished, can you believe it? Our final project (the Sex Panel held in the Student Center) for Sexuality and Culture was very successful. We were pretty pleased with the turnout and can only hope that we initiated positive communication about sex on campus. For our last class tomorrow we will be going to our professors house for warm drinks and cookies to hang out and reflect what we had learned throughout the semester and what we can contribute to the world with the knowledge we've acquired.

Did you know that SLU is on YouTube!?
