Mid-Semester Break

Last week we had our Mid-Semester Break and I decided to spend it in Montreal, Quebec with some friends.

Stepping Outside the Classroom

Tuesday night I was able to attend Dr. Linda Martin-Alcoff’s philosophical presentation, "Can Whites Be A Part of the Rainbow?"

A Walk Into Canton

Tuesday night, after I finished my work of course, I met up with some friends at the Hoot Owl for “Senior Blues.” This is a St. Lawrence tradition among seniors to gather, if they can, every Tuesday to hang out, play darts or pool and eat some of the Hoot Owl’s delicious popcorn. Here I am not only surrounded by the friends that I came with but I am also able to catch up with people from my First Year Program (FYP), on my squash team, or those that I have class with.

A Week Requiring My Attention

Today, I had my first midterm exam of the semester for my Sexuality Society and Culture class. We had to reminisce on articles by Jeffrey Weeks, Gayle Rubin, Carol Vance and Amber Hollinbaugh and how gender and sexuality are constructed and a paradigm shift needs to be considered. I hope I did well!
This past Wednesday I had to perform an open monologue for my Beginners Acting Class. I was able to use props and a costume. These were my lines...

Speak Out

Yesterday during my Interpersonal Communication course we had the privilege of having Deirdre N. McCloskey come speak in our classroom. Deirdre is an eminent professor of Economics, History, English, and Communication at the University of Illinois at Chicago. What's so unique and awesome about Deirdre is that she used to be Donald.

I’m glad to be back on campus after spending a few days in San Francisco with my oldest sister.

A Summer Internship in Admissions

So this is my first blog post ever and I’m really excited about posting throughout my summer internship here at St. Lawrence University (SLU). Along with five other interns, we have the privilege of becoming the “six most informed students on campus.” Not only does this allow us to gain experience but, most importantly, bragging rights as the most knowledgeable individuals amongst our peers.
