Graduation is only the beginning...

I can't believe graduation is only a  bit over a week away.  People always say how fast four years of college will go by but you don't really have a grip on it until you take that last exam.  Before last weekend I was really nervous about my future and what was ahead of me after graduation.  Last weekend we had our basketball alummni come up for the weekned playi in the alumni game.  I had the time to share some valuable time with them and hear their stories and what life has been like after SLU.  Through the interaction I had with the alumni dating all the way back to graduates of the c

Only a few weeks left....

My college basketball career has come to an end after a tremendous season.  We finished the year with a record of 22-7 and being able to advance to the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA tournament my senior year is something that I'll never forget.  It was a very weird time to end the season because it was also the start of our spring break and for the first few days all I did was think about our season as it was such a large part of my life for the prev

March Madness!!!

Spring Break is only a few days away and I’m happy to say that I won’t be going home or to some exotic destination. Instead I will be going with my basketball team to New Jersey to continue taking part in this year’s Division 3 basketball tournament. This past weekend we were fortunate to be able to host the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament in Burkman gymnasium and it was a weekend which I’ll never forget. The weekend before we had lost in the championship game of the Liberty League tournament so we did not get the automatic bid for the NCAA tournament.

In the swing of things...

This is one of my favorite times of the year because it’s my favorite time of basketball season. Right now we are in the middle of league play and we are often playing three games a week. It’s the complete opposite of the start of the season when you usually spend most of the time in practice and have only a few games. So far the season has been going great as we have a record of 14-4(7-1 in the Liberty League), which currently puts us at #2 in the east region.

January in Canton...

I can't believe it's already the start of second, and my last, semester as an undergraduate here at SLU. It's really nice to start classes again and have everyone back on campus.

Thanksgiving Break!

Last Friday while most students were getting excited to head home for break, our basketball team was getting excited to play our first game of the season. We opened our season with a tip-off tournament at Williams College in Williamstown, MA. We left SLU early Friday morning and most the guys on the team took this as a good opportunity to take a nap, while others watched movies. Our first game in the tournament was against Ursinus College and it was a really good test for our team right off the bat as they were ranked the #12 team in the country for D-III basketball.

Start of Basketball Season...

Wow, I can’t believe its November already! The last few weeks have really flown by with the start of basketball season. I can’t be any more excited to be back out there on the court.

Flag Football and a Broken Nose...

One of my favorite things here at SLU is all the intramural sports that we have available to us. This fall me and a bunch of my friends got together and we signed up for flag football. Right now our team is 3-0 and we are getting excited for the playoffs to start.

A MAASV Barbecue...

I am extremely excited to be writing my first blog of the year and share my experiences. Here at SLU we have the wonderful opportunity to become active members of campus with over 100 student clubs and organizations. One of the organizations which I am apart of on campus is Male Athletes Against Sexual Violence (MAASV). The goal of the organization is to create awareness about sexual violence and the role that males can have in preventing it. This past Friday, we had the first MAASV barbecue of the year.
