Glory Days: The Springfest Series

This past Saturday we celebrated SLU Springfest on the quad!

(Stage Pre-Springfest)

Three different bands took the stage, Yes Giantess, Stephen Kellog and the Sixers, and The Cool Kids.

The Last Dance

Tri-Delta Spring Formal 2010 will not be forgotten any time soon!

The weekend was off to an unfortunate start (rain forced our Greek Week games indoors) and tug of war was replaced with a karaoke contest.  I was very disappointed! Luckily, the rain couldn't stop formal.  It just frizzed our hair a bit!

Greek Week

This Monday marked the start of Greek Week!  Each house on campus (fraternities and sororities) will be competing for points to be the winner of Greek Week!  All over campus students are showing house pride by wearing their letters.  Tuesday we had a progressive dinner that began with appetizers at one house, entrees at another and went through all the sorority houses!  It was a great event and over sixty students marched from house to house enjoying the time together.

Jeeps & Peeps

Good Morning Canton!

Another crazy week has begun!  This weekend I went to Sunday River, Maine for Easter and soaked up the sunny weather.  It was so much fun and a really relaxing weekend.

College Visit

This past weekend one of my best friends came to visit St. Lawrence for the first time.  I have been friends with Nicole since we were eight years-old!  We have not lived in the same state since the fourth grade but remained in touch through phone calls and e-mails.  She is a senior at a business school outside the Boston area.  Our college experiences have been wonderful but different!

Break & Back again

It is SPRING in the North Country!!

This week has been one of the best (weather wise) this semester.  The sun is shining and at 60 degrees we really couldn't ask for me.  The sun has made returning to classes after a week off just a bit more bearable.  I hope it lasts the rest of the semester!  Seven weeks to go.  It is decision time for most law schools and I am anxiously awaiting the rest of my responses.  So far I have received two acceptance letters, one waitlist, and counting... terrifying!

Painting II

This semester I am enrolled in my second painting course!  I can't seem to get enough of the studio hours.  Our first major assignment was to work on a portrait painting using a color blocking technique.  Students could use any style from tiny dots (which I chose) to grid-like blocks.  It was pretty interesting to watch our paintings develop.  There was a point where I thought, How is this ever going to look like a person! Somehow it all came together!

Mid Semester Sprint

I have some bad news... it is cold season!  For the past week I have been unable to shake some truly unfortunate symptoms.  I am ready to be over this cold and moving on to bigger and warmer things. Next week I head out to West Palm Beach for spring break! Cross your fingers that the temperature stays above 50 degrees.

4th of July in February?

This weekend there will be a registered event at our local bar The Tick Tock!  The theme is 4th of July in February.  It probably sounds a little bit ridiculous and it is... but who doesn't love the Fourth of July?

Students are invited and show up in any American/Olympic/Summer BBQ outfit.  In years past we have seen bald eagles, mount rushmore, and even Presidents attend the event! This year it will be really fun with the Olympics just getting started.

Spring Fever

I am ready for spring!

While I love the snow covered campus and wearing ear-muffs, I am looking forward to thawing out over the next few months!  I absolutely love the first week that the temperature rises because everyone is outside and around campus.  No one appreciates warm weather like a St. Lawrence student!

Girls at Jenks

Here Chelsea, Katie and I are outside the Jenks suite braving the cold!
