Laurentians in Residence: Careers in Entertainment and Media brings Laurentian leaders to campus to connect with students, faculty and staff. Laurentians with careers in entertainment and media will be on campus for classroom presentations, group meetings and informational interviews. The culminating event is a panel discussion on Thursday, October 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the Hannon Room, Student Center. The panel will be focused on students' career interests, though faculty and staff are welcome to attend. ANDREA DE LEON '82

Andrea de Leon ’82 is the Northeast Bureau Chief for National Public Radio.  She joined NPR in 1999, after many years of reporting for NPR and other media outlets.  She is also former news director for Maine Public Broadcasting.  At NPR, Andrea assigns and edits stories for broadcast on “Morning Edition,” “All Things Considered” and other network news programs.  In addition to a degree in English from St. Lawrence, she holds an MFA in writing from Vermont College.  She began her career in broadcasting as an undergraduate, at North Country Public Radio.

DANIEL M. POSENER '82

Daniel M. Posener ’82 has handled business affairs for the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Pressman Films in Los Angeles, Disney Theatrical Productions, National Artists Management Company and the New Amsterdam Theatre.  Broadway and other shows he has been associated with include Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aida, Annie Get Your Gun, Chicago, Seussical, Mary Poppins, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Sweet Charity, The Little Mermaid and Disney on Ice. He has a law degree from Hofstra University, and has also been a production attorney and associate producer.

CYNTHIA COCHRANE '86

Cynthia Cochrane ’86 is general manager/partner at Rock Ridge Music, a full-service record label, artist management company and online marketing firm.  As a student, she was in Mummers and studied on the London program. After graduating with a degree in theatre arts (today’s performance and communication arts), she held a number of music industry positions, including tenures at Universal Motown Records Group, BMG Direct, Blue Note and Capitol Records.  Cochrane is also the founder of Run Amok Studios, an independent design and production consulting company.

DAVID DUSEK '93

David Dusek ’93 is the deputy editor of GOLF.com, part of the Sports Illustrated Digital Group within Time Inc. He reports each year from all of golf's major events; produces and directs photo shoots and video productions; writes a golf equipment blog on the Internet; and studies user behaviors in order to optimize and improve the Web site. He has been a guest on major TV networks such as ESPN and radio stations on three continents. Previously he wrote for GOLF Magazine and was a senior editor at Tennis Magazine.

MARK TALLMAN M'06

Mark Tallman M'06 graduated from Bucknell University, where he was captain of the football team. He was a graduate student/assistant football coach at SLU and now works in New York City as an actor/model. He can be seen in Rockefeller Center's "Top of the Rock" ad campaign. He has held recurring roles on All My Children and Guiding Light; his acting credits include independent films, webisodes and commercials, including a small principal role in Disney's upcoming film Step Up 3D and a lead role in a current national commercial for the National Fair Housing Alliance.

MARTHA MACCALLUM '86

Martha MacCallum '86 co-anchors "The Live Desk" on FOX News Channel, which she joined in 2004. She co-anchored FNC's "Strategy Room" on Election Night 2008, and has anchored major stories including Hurricane Katrina. Previously, she was with CNBC, where she created the series "Inside the Business" while contributing to MSNBC, CNBC World, NBC affiliates and NBC's "Today." Before that, she was an anchor and reporter for WBIS-TV, a business news correspondent at Wall Street Journal Television and a reporter for Corporate Finance magazine. She has twice received the American Women in Radio and Television award.
