The University Libraries have obtained trial access to two new film collections from Alexander Street Press: New World Cinema and Silent Film Online. These trials will run until October 31st; links and more information about each collection follow.
The Special Collections and University Archives at ODY will be open 8:30am-4:30pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday AND 8:30am-6:30pm on TUESDAYS throughout the Fall 2012 semester.
Library and IT staff worked together this summer to add over 70 new electrical outlets for laptop use in open-seating and study areas of the ODY library. In addition, the floor-level "tree house" carrels have new fluorescent lights as well, creating 24 new, brightly lit, private study spaces. Slideshow...
Starting this fall, Seniors, you’ll be able to borrow books from ODY and Launders Science Library for a full semester. If you’re doing year-long research, you can renew your books one time, until the end of the Spring semester.
We've had some complaints about noise at ODY... From now until the end of Finals' Week the Yellow Pipe Room has been designated to be a Quiet Study Area. When did you last think about what it means to write by hand? Over the month of April there are a series of events to encourage you to take pen in hand and think about words flowing from the wrist. The events start with sit down and write sessions in the Sullivan Center on April 10th and 17th , and conclude with an April 24th lecture on the relevance of Handwriting by New Atlantis Senior Editor Christine Rosen.
