The SLU Libraries now subscribe to the full-text web version of the journal Science.  Science is one of the world's leading journals associated with the publication of original scientific research, global news, and commentary.  Recent issues (1997-present) are available directly from Science.  For older issues, the SLU Libraries will continue to provide access to Science from 1880 to 2002 via the
JSTOR Health & General Science Collection.

The SLU Libraries subscribe to the Lexis-Nexis Congressional Serial Set, 1789-1969. The Serial Set is the historical component to the Lexis-Nexis Congressional database. It comprises Senate and House reports and documents. It includes most of the Executive Branch publications issued in the 19th Century, for instance documents on the Civil War and western expansion, geological and other scientific explorations, Indian affairs and patents. The Lexis-Nexis Congressional Serial Set contains more than 325,000 individual titles, and nearly 10 million pages.

We now have online access to Grove Music Online, a major reference source, and to Music Online which provides over 110,000 tracks of streaming music for listening.

Grove Music Online, from Oxford University Press, is the online version of the Grove Dictionary of Music; it includes over 50,000 articles on the history and culture of music and musicians worldwide.  Also included are the Oxford Dictionary of Music and the Oxford Companion to Music.

Music Online from Alexander Street Press has five different collections of music tracks; World Music, Smithsonian Global Sound, Classical Music, African American Music, and American Song.  All are available for unrestricted listening by the SLU community.

The SLU Libraries now subscribe to the full-text web version of the journal Nature. Nature is a weekly international journal publishing the finest peer-reviewed research. Nature also provides rapid, authoritative, insightful and arresting news and interpretation of topical and coming trends affecting science, scientists and the wider public.

Chinese Pamplets: Political communication and mass education in the early period of the People's Republic of China is a digital collection available to SLU Library patrons via the Center for Research Libraries. Chinese pamphlets, picture books and other propaganda issued during the early years of the People's Republic of China between 1947 and 1954. Unlike the high-end, made-for-export propaganda held by many Western libraries, this is the "street literature" of the revolution: the comic books, leaflets and other ephemera distributed to the population of the provincial cities and villages.
