Library Resources from Off Campus

Given many people are on the road over the holiday season, we thought it good to highlight that you can connect to our catalog, our journal databases, and electronic publications from off campus.

Details on the various options, VPN,, and accessing journal databases via your password are here.  We recommend you use the VPN client.  Our virtual private network (VPN) provides secure access to campus resources from off campus.

Since connecting to the VPN encrypts your network traffic, we recommended users connect to the VPN while accessing the Internet from unsecured public WiFi hotspots (eg, airports, hotels, cafés, etc). Information on installing the VPN on your laptop is available here, and we have a short video overview on using the VPN to access the network and library web site here

It’s worth noting that some of our resources, such as Encore/ODYsseus, Refworks, ILLiad, and OverDrive e-books, are web accessible by design, so all one needs is a browser.
