Ada Lovelace Day
The LIT division, in partnership with SLU Codes; the Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science department; as well as the PQRC, will be hosting events on October 13th to raise awareness and commemorate the achievements of women in STEM fields.
Refreshments will be available and prizes will be drawn! Additionally, all events are FY-Cup Eligible, so please encourage students to attend.
When: October 13th at 11:00am-2:00pm (in ODY Room 125B) & again at 4:30pm-6:00pm (in the PQRC), collectively, we want participants to create or make improvements to existing pages that focus on women in STEM in order to increase visibility of this information on the web. We will be demonstrating how to edit a Wikipedia article during this event and welcome students, faculty, and staff of all familiarity levels to join us. Drop-in whenever you like, stay for as long as you like, and help us change Wikipedia for the better!
IFTTT: Task Automation
When: October 13th at 12:00pm-1:00pm (in ODY140A) & again at 5:00pm-6:00pm (in the PQRC), join us and discover how you can automate tasks to save you time and benefit your daily life! Create powerful connections with one simple statement: if this then that. In this session we will be demonstrating how to use IFTTT, an application that gives you creative control over the products and apps that you love, like your social media, DropBox, Google Drive, email, and calendar.
