About Us

Student leadership and community service at St. Lawrence University happen through a variety of intentionally designed programs, activities and opportunities. The overriding goal of the leadership academy and the David Garner Center for Collegiate Volunteerism is to create co-curricular opportunities for students to learn, develop and practice principles of ethical leadership and service to others. Programs targeted at students' needs and interests are offered throughout the year. The leadership academy makes a special effort to reach out to first-year students to get them connected with other student organizations on campus. The volunteer center coordinates community and campus service projects as well as alternative spring break experiences. Anchored in the belief that all of our students will at some point be in positions of leadership, leadership and volunteer programs are open to the entire student body.

Our comfortable and spacious lounge in the Hulett-Jencks Commons Area provides an ideal gathering space for representatives from our theme halls, first-year councils and other leadership and volunteer organizations on campus. University-recognized organizations may reserve the lounge by calling ext. 5652.
