Educational Technologies Student Group - "We're training for life"

We're offering technology support designed specifically for the liberal arts--students training students and dedicated course support for faculty. St. Lawrence students form the core of this program with dual coordinates: technology training for students and course support for faculty. Student technologists are trained to provide effective small group or individual peer training, offering afternoon or evening workshops for students in video, audio, and web editing; Microsoft Office 2007 and Windows Vista. Educational technologist professional staff provide technology course support in alignment with curricular objectives; please see also the technology project support guidelines.

Faculty Participation and Program Opportunities

Faculty may utilize the student training program as an informal, supplemental resource for coursework requiring technology skills. Please review the Training for Life schedule carefully and contact trainingforlife@stlawu.edu if you have any questions.

Faculty may request formal course support through specially arranged training. Please review technology project guidelines first, and then request a liaison appointment.

Student Participation and Program Opportunities

Educational technologist student staff now provide workshops for student peers. Review the Spring 2008 workshop schedule and register online now! Please note that seats are limited and advance registration is REQUIRED to participate.

One-on-one appointments and small group trainings are available upon request. Please email trainingforlife@stlawu.edu to request a appointment.

On February 28, 2008, the students kicked off the Training for Life program with a Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament in the Winston Room of the Student Center. First Place Winner: Rob Courtney (iPod Shuffle); First Runner Up: Mclean Beyor ($50 iTunes gift certificate); Second Runner Up: Bruce Ore ($25 iTunes gift certificate); event photos below.
