Teaching and Learning with Technology
Liaison Appointments: What? Why? When? How?
What are liaison appointments?
- Opportunities for on one-on-one consultation with an educational technology professional on a wide range of topics
- A required component when requesting technology project support from the educational technologies team
- Typically 30-60 minutes in duration, scheduled at your convenience
- Appointments are often scheduled at the Center for Teaching and Learning
Why should faculty use the liaison appointment service?
- Small group departmental training or tutorials, specific to the needs in a program or office setting
- Private consultation on any teaching and learning with technology issue, especially as related to technology project support
- Personalized, hands-on training (e.g. digital camera, scanner) or an abbreviated introductory training (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- Follow up on a topic of interest from another training event
When are liaisons available?
During the semester, individuals may request liaison appointments between the first full week and the last full week of classes.
Departmental liaison appointments are scheduled on an as-needed basis, when more than one member of a department would benefit from training on a particular technology and/or in a specific facility.
These appointments may be scheduled almost any time of the year.
Summer liaison appointments are usually scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday mornings, during most of June or July.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Please contact a member of the educational technologies team*. We collaborate internally to make sure your appointment is scheduled with the most appropriate team member, and at a date, time and location that is convenient for you.
