Remarks at Inauguration of President William L. Fox

I bring greetings and congratulations from the Canton Village Board and the Canton community.  We are delighted to welcome Bill and Lynn Fox to Canton.

Since 1856, when far-sighted citizens of Canton founded the St. Lawrence Theological School and subsequently St. Lawrence University, the fortunes of St. Lawrence and the Village have been inextricably linked.  Bill Fox understands this linkage.  He has already begun reaching out to the community, forging personal relations that will be the basis of future partnerships.  We in Canton are especially pleased the Bill and Lynn Fox have chosen to highlight local restaurants as part of the inaugural festivities.  For us, this decision epitomizes their commitment to the local community.

With this auspicious beginning, the Village of Canton looks forward to many productive years of working together.
