Dr. Jennings Publishes Article
Evelyn Jennings, Associate Professor, Margaret Vilas Chair of Latin American History, and Associate Dean for Academic Advising Programs recently published an article entitled, “All in the Family? Reflections on Colonial Ibero-America in an Atlantic Frame” in the Bulletin of Hispanic Studies, vol. 91, no. 1 (2014): 83-104. The essay explores the definitions, utility, and limits of an Atlantic perspective for historians of Ibero-America. It examines some recent assessments of the wider field of Atlantic history and some recent scholarship explicitly located in an Iberian Atlantic framework to reflect on topics and themes that might be best studied through that lens.
