Assistant Professor of Middle East History, Howard Eissenstat, quoted in national press, lectures for Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs
Dr. Howard Eissenstat was quoted last month in an Los Angeles Times article on Turkey’s policy in Syria, arguing that Turkey was looking for ways to retool its policy on Syria given the likelihood that the war would drag on and the rising influence of jihadi groups. At the end of November, Dr. Eissenstat gave two lectures at the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Development. In the first, he discussed Turkey’s rising influence in the region. In the second lecture, he analyzed the nature of rising sectarianism in the Middle East.
