At St. Lawrence
I was a history major with a minor in Spanish. I completed a history honors thesis with Dr. Evelyn Jennings during my senior year which focused on Cuba in the nineteenth century. I used letters from a Cuban family (these documents can be found in the Hernández Collection in the Owen D. Young Library’s Special Collections) to investigate the effect of Cuba’s development within a “transnational” setting on the island’s society and culture. I was able to use the skills from my Spanish minor, along with guidance from Dr. Jennings and Dr. Steven White, to translate some of the letters from Spanish to English.
I am currently attending University of New Hampshire School of Law (formerly Franklin Pierce Law Center) in Concord, NH.
