Join other students working to make the scarlet and brown just a little more green.

At the end of this year, two major economic and environmental decisions will be made. Governor Cuomo will decide whether to ban hydraulic fracturing in New York and President Obama will decide whether or not to approve the Keystone XL pipeline. 

The time for public opinion is running out. This is the chance for us to be heard.

So, to give you an opportunity to speak, write or learn about both issues, EAO will be having a table in the Student Center during lunch, Monday through Thursday 11-2 to offer information about the extreme dangers of hydraulic fracturing and the pipeline.

Come to share your opinions whether for or against both issues. Or you could always just stop by to chat!

Gasland follows director Josh Fox as he travels the United States and uncovers the truth behind hydraulic fracturing or "fracking," the process that is used by natural gas companies to extract gas from the earth. Gasland gives a view into the political corruption caused by the big oil companies in America and brings to light a relatively unknown but nevertheless very important issue of the current energy crisis. Josh Fox received the 2011 Emmy for Best Directing for Nonfiction Programming and Gasland was nominated for the Oscar for Best Documentary.
