Green Bikes @ Science Library

The Green Bikes are available for loan from the Science Library!

The program is an initiative to make bikes available to the campus community in the hope that people will choose to use the bikes as transportation in place of a car for campus and local ventures. Green Bikes are available to SLU Students, staff, and Faculty only, and circulate for 4 hours. Bikes are available during the academic year. Renewals are not permitted.

The new single speed Kona's have a neat feature whereby the lock is integrated into the frame of the bike and latches around the rear wheel, immobilizing it. This means no cables or U locks necessary as it's all built in. It is less to fuss with though can be deceiving to the unknowing eye. It may look unlocked, but it's not!

All bikes are available for loan at Science Library for up to 4 hours. Patrons need simply to sign a waiver their first time, then can borrow them just as books are loaned. There are no renewals as we want to encourage a broad and ever-changing use of this resource. Helmets may be loaned as well.
