In 1962 Rachel Carson published her book, Silent Spring, detailing all of the abuse of pesticides and outlining the consquences of their use.  Her book changed the environmental movement.  This documentary, which originally aired on PBS as part of the American Experience series describes the life of Rachel Carson, the publication of Silent Spring, and the backlash and lasting influence the book had on our environment.
