Film Festival a Success
The Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival, sponsored by the students of the Environmental Action Organization was a success. The first showing of this festival in NYS attracted an estimated 200 students, faculty/staff and community members to the Friday evening event. Over $900 was raised to benefit the local non-profit GardenShare and Gulf Aid, an NGO assisting communities in the Gulf Coast. Complementing their efforts to ban bottled water on SLU's campus the feature length documentary ‘Tapped' was the final film of the evening. EAO students are hoping the information about water privatization, environmental impacts and human health issues will increase support of their efforts to make a change on campus.
