Global Studies
The Woodlands, TX

My two concentrations are on Latin America and the Caribbean and U.S. Cultural and Ethnic Studies. I'm minoring in French and have studied abroad in France and am currently in the Washington Semester Program in D.C. As a part of the program, I am interning at the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA), a US human rights organization that promotes democracy and socioeconomic justice in Latin America and the Caribbean through analysis and foreign policy proposals. I chose to major in Global Studies because of interests in international relations from experiences of living abroad and growing up in a bicultural household.
The thing I love most about Global Studies is that it is an interdisciplinary major--it relates to so many different fields of study that I am interested in. It also really makes you question or rethink all that encompasses globalization.
