Endowment and Expendable Giving Options
Giving to St. Lawrence can take many forms. Annual giving provides funds to help keep the University operating each year, while endowed gifts provide ongoing income to ensure that programs are sustainable into the future.
There are “naming” opportunities for both endowed and expendable funds with associated gift minimums; here is a sample:
Endowed Named Gifts
| Professorship (to create a new position) |
$2,000,000 |
| Professorship (to name an existing position) |
$1,500,000 |
| Associate Professorship |
$1,000,000 |
| Head Coach Position |
$1,000,000 |
| Assistant Professorship |
$750,000 |
| Lectureship |
$150,000 |
| Scholarship |
$100,000 |
| Departmental Fund* |
$100,000 |
| Student Enrichment Fund* |

Endowment gifts are invested in the University endowment and permanently provide 5.0% to 5.5% of their value each year to be spent for their designated purpose.
* Departmental funds allow department chairs to fund initiatives not supported by normal budgetary funds. Student Enrichment funds provide added opportunities for student research and conference attendance and presentations.
One-Time Gifts
Memorial Tree and Plaque $ 5,000
Memorial Bench and Plaque $ 5,000
Expendable Named Gifts
Many of the types of funds named above can be funded year-by-year for lower minimums. Most expendable gifts are made and spent fully each year, and receive St. Lawrence Fund credit.
