Momentum St. Lawrence
W. Eugene and Deborah Bishop Book Award

Debbie Bishop, administrative secretary for the First-Year Program, and her husband Gene Bishop, who recently retired from his position as audiovisual technology specialist, have kicked off a new fund that will provide book awards to St. Lawrence students who are children of employees. As 29- and 21-year employees of the University, respectively, Debbie and Gene said that they wanted to find a way to give back that would really make a difference.

“Over the years I have watched many children of my colleagues attend St. Lawrence and grow into impressive adults,” Debbie says. Books are very expensive, and I wanted to find a way to help these students with college costs.”

Other faculty and staff are joining the Bishops in contributing to this expendable fund. The awarding of book grants is dependent on enough contributions being received by the fund, so more donations are appreciated.

If you would like to make a contribution to the W. Eugene and Deborah Bishop Book Award, simply note the name of the fund on the contribution form and mail it with your check. You can also give through payroll deduction.
