Devon Murphy Stein, Grant Writer

Carol Smith, Grants Manager

The primary focus of C&F is to support and encourage faculty and institutional grant-seeking activities at St. Lawrence, while helping to develop positive relationships with external funding organizations. We work with faculty and staff members from across campus on a variety of grant activities, and we would be happy to help you develop your proposal concept into a grant-funded project. We can assist you by:

  • providing resources and research assistance to help identify potential funders for your project
  • discussing your proposal ideas and connecting you with others on campus who have had similar successful proposals in the past
  • reviewing drafts of your proposal
  • helping you prepare and submit your proposal to the funding agency
  • guiding you through the grant administration and reporting processes once you’ve received a grant award

If you have identified a specific grant opportunity that you’d like to pursue, please make an appointment to discuss your project with the C&F staff. It’s important that you talk with us about your proposal as far in advance of your deadline as possible so we can help ensure that your proposal concept is reviewed and approved internally in time for submission. (See Preparing a Proposal for more details.)
