“I get more enthusiastic about St. Lawrence every day,” says
Professor of Biology Thomas Budd. “We’re doing a
very good job in terms of our academic mission: ‘to provide an
inspiring and demanding undergraduate education in the liberal arts
to students selected for their seriousness of purpose and intellectual
promise.’”
The fall of 2005 saw Budd beginning his 35th year as a professor at
St. Lawrence, and his eleventh as chair of the biology
department. “I’m extremely excited about the construction
of the Johnson Hall of Science,”
says Budd, who is faculty director of the project. “We’re
working with some very talented professionals. It will be a big boost
to the science departments, especially our newer programs such as neuroscience
and biochemistry.”
“I think St. Lawrence has a very bright future,” says Budd. |
