and Latin American Studies Margaret
Kent Bass is also interim Vice President and Dean
of Student Life and Co-Curricular
Education. In addition to overseeing
the University's student life programs, Margaret she also oversees
the Higher Education Opportunity Program, Collegiate
Science and Technology Entry Program, McNair
Scholar program, Presidential Diversity
Scholar program and Jeffrey Campbell Fellows program.
Bass received her B.A. at Wilmington College, her M.Ed. at the University
of Mississippi, and her Ph.D. Louisiana State. Her research interests
are autobiography studies and literatures of the African Diaspora.
Her current research is on the literature and culture of Black Canadians.
In addition to scholarly essays, Bass writes creative nonfiction.
She also teaches often during St. Lawrence's Summerterm. She says
Summerterm is "St. Lawrence at its very best -- good times,
tough courses, plenty of time to study and play, make new friends."
