Dr. Caroline Breashears publishes article, is keynote speaker
Dr. Caroline Breashears, associate professor of English, recently published an article titled “The Female Appeal
Memoir: Genre and Female Literary Tradition in Eighteenth-Century England” in Modern Philology.
Also, Dr. Breashears was the
keynote speaker at a conference in Melbourne sponsored by the
Bibliographical Society of Australia and New Zealand. Her
presentation—“’Duke or Darling?’ The Scandalous History of Mary Anne Clarke’s
Writings”—focused on the life-writings of a British courtesan central to a
scandal involving the Duke of York in 1809.
