Grant Administrators Director Catherine A. Crosby-Currie, J.D., Ph.D., Associate Dean of the First Year and Associate Professor of Psychology, is one of the project co-directors of the current AAC&U BTtoP intensive site project and was a member of the Core Commitments leadership team. Crosby-Currie has collaborated extensively with project co-director Zimmerman (see below) on multiple large-scale surveys, using national and in-house survey instruments, and on several other quantitative and qualitative assessments. Together, they co-chair the Research and Evaluation Subcommittee of the Wellness Initiative, which seeks to reduce students’ high-risk behavior through environmental change. Crosby-Currie co-founded the Wellness Initiative and has been project director for two of its grants. She has taught one of the core community-based learning courses at SLU for the last eleven years. contact: cacrcu@stlawu.edu Evaluator Christine Zimmerman, M.A., Director of Institutional Resarch, has led St. Lawrence University’s data research and analysis processes to support academic and administrative assessment and planning, grants assessment, external reporting, and survey research. Zimmerman co-chairs St. Lawrence University’s Assessment Committee, has served on numerous on-campus committees and initiatives, including the Hewlett Foundation Pluralism and Unity project, the current Teagle Committee and the Wellness Initiative, and routinely collaborates with faculty and staff on campus. contact: christinezimmerman@stlawu.edu Team Members Elizabeth Regosin, PhD.,Professor of History, is the Senior Faculty Associate of Community Based Learning Programs. She is currently teaching a Community Based Learning class in SLU's First Year Program. Dr. Regosin has previously served as the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, the Director of Advising, and chair of the History department. Ronald J. Flores, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Sociology, is the past Director of Community Based Learning programs and the BTtoP Demonstration Site Project. During the past five years, he has served on the Faculty Council, the Caribbean and Latin American Studies Advisory Board, the Dean’s Task Force on Recruitment and Retention of Faculty of Color, and as Faculty Delegate to the Board of Trustees. Matha Thornton, Ph.D., Assistant Dean of Student Life and Director of Residence Life, has worked with undergraduate students and Student Life staff at the University of Virginia, College of Wooster, and, most recently, Haverford College. Thornton joined the St. Lawrence community in August 2006 and, in addition to leading the Residence Life program, she is responsible for the residential portion of our FYP. She also serves on the University’s Task Force on Diversity and Social Justice. Anne-Marie FitzGerald, M.S. Ed., Research Associate for the Engaged Learning Grant, brings her expertise in instructional design to the project. Anne-Marie's activities focus on capturing the unique instructional elements of engaged learning in St. Lawrence University's First-Year Program. She continues her work in the area of innovative instruction in higher education having previously worked on two National Science Foundation projects (Preparing Tomorrows Teachers for Technology, & Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). contact: amfitzgerald@stlawu.edu |
