My St. Lawrence Experience:

Walking onto the campus, I found that my professors and fellow students took an interest in me.  They looked to me for input in a non-threatening way.  I, in turn, learned to listen to others’ perspectives and count on their experiences to guide mine.  There was a collaborative “feel” that enabled me to grow as professional.

The course work directly impacted me in my decisions at work in a North Country public school; I found relevance in the activities.  Many of the instructional approaches used authentic situations; there was work-place rigor introduced and used to further our understanding.  In multiple classes, expert practitioners were utilized to impart a “boots on the ground” approach; I developed a sense of preparedness which enabled me to assume the mantle of leadership.

I found that my experience at SLU was exceptional.
