Education Professor Co-Writes Section on Textbook Writing

William Collins, program coordinator of the Educational Leadership program and assistant professor of education, has co-written for a new book a section on textbook writing.

The case study appears in the recently published Writing and Developing Your College Textbook: A Comprehensive Guide (Textbook & Academic Authors Association, 2016).  Collins and his co-author, offer their experience as an example of how professional colleagues can establish a metavoice, a sort of interplay of voices, when co-authoring a textbook. This case study attempts to address the question: “How can multiple authors persevere and integrate their unique writing styles, strengths, and perspectives while simultaneously offering the reader a smooth unified text?”
