Educational Leadership Programs

The University offers options for graduate students to prepare for a variety of professional leadership careers in education-related fields.  The Certificate of Advanced Study (C.A.S.) programs are post-masters programs requiring a minimum of 60 sem. hrs. of graduate-level study in education.

Programs

M. Ed. - Educational Leadership - 39 sem. hrs.

  • NY initial certification as School Building Leader - No prior masters degree required
  • Course requirements
  • Admission requirements (due October 1 or April 1)

M. Ed. - Educational Leadership - 33 sem. hrs.

  • Non-certification option for leadership roles in a variety of settings - No prior masters degree required
  • Course requirements
  • Admission requirements (due October 1 or April 1)

C.A.S. - Educational Leadership (combined SBL/SDL option) - 39 sem. hrs.

  • Part I  - NY initial certification as School Building Leader
  • Part II - NY professional certification as School District Leader (after additional years of service)
  • Prior masters degree in education required
  • Course requirements
  • Admission requirements (due October 1 or April 1)

C.A.S. - Educational Leadership (SDL-only option) - 21 sem. hrs.

  • NY professional certification as School District Leader - Prior masters degree in educational administration required
  • Aligns with M. Ed. program for School Building Leadership
  • Course requirements
  • Admission requirements (due October 1 or April 1)
