Chun Gee’99’s world travels lead him back to his own brand-new marketing business. In July 2008, Chun decided to leave his corporate marketing life in Washington, D.C., to travel for several month throughout Asia. His itinerary had stops in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. But sometime along the route, in Bali, he met a fellow traveler and began a conversation that resulted in Bule|Fusion, a small creative and Web design shop centered around the philosophy of “
having fun while doing what we love.”
“My story really began a couple months into my stay when I was in a motorbike accident that required reconstructive surgery and 50 stitches around my left eye area,” he relates. “Through adversity comes hope. I had a lot of time on my hands in September while recovering. It was then that I had the revelation to start my dream agency structured to keep operational costs low in order to pass along the savings to client partners. A month later, my agency became reality.”
“Today,
we’re a marketing firm of people with the passion for making other people happy,” Chun says. “This can include client partners, the guy at the coffee shop and even those difficult-to-please investors. And in the age of technology, physical boundaries no longer restrict our ability to offer extraordinary marketing, design and strategic service to our client partners. Our worldwide team of strategists, artists and relationship managers don’t sit in cubicles all day. Instead,
our teams in the United States, Germany and Indonesia work in a virtual partnership not confined by traditional silos,” he says.
Chun earned a degree in
government at St. Lawrence, and was a member of ATO fraternity and the Junior Class Gift Committee.
