Fall Festival at the Wachtmeister Field Station Friday, October 21st
Faculty and students at St. Lawrence University will be highlighting student work while involving the local community in an appreciation of nature and ecological study during a Fall Festival on Friday October 21st from 2-5 pm. People of all ages are invited to come enjoy an afternoon of fun and learning in nature! Some of the activities planned are:
-GPS Geocaching Scavenger Hunt
-Mammal Skin and Specimen Study
-Find the Oldest Tree in the Kip Tract
-Apple Cider Pressing
-Fly Fishing Clinic
-Lake Bacteria Sampling and Viewing
-Pumpkin Carving and Painting
We will be collecting small donations to benefit Friends of Bittersweet Farm – a non-profit educational division of Bittersweet Farm supporting sustainable farming and community-based learning in our local community.
This event is being sponsored by the SLU chapter of Beta Beta Beta (Biology Honor Society) as well as students and faculty in biology, chemistry, geology and environmental studies at St. Lawrence University.
Directions to the SLU Wachtmeister Field Station: From Main Street in Canton, follow Park Street south approximately 1.1 miles. The field station will be on your left just over the Park Street Bridge.
