2016 Case Studies

In Spring semester 2016, students enrolled in Biology 440, the Conservation Biology capstone course, conducted research and produced white papers on topics of relevance in New York including the environmental impacts of microplastics in North Country waterways, mercury accumulation in songbirds, and the effects of the dairy industry on biodiversity.   Other topics included the examination of the effects of invasive Eurasian mussels on biodiversity, causes and consequences of amphibian declines, and heritage brook trout in Adirondack waters.
