Driving and Parking Directions

PLEASE NOTE: You may park in front of your student’s residential hall building to unload. Once you are unloaded, you must move your vehicle to the designated parking lot for your student’s building. This process will allow others the opportunity to unload. Information regarding parking lot designation and directions to the residence halls and parking lots are provided below. 1. Traveling South on Route 11

Route 11 will become Main Street in Canton. Drive past the main entrance to campus and into the village. At the main traffic light in the village (the town park is on your left and the movie theatre and Post Office is across the street and on the right after you turn onto Park Street), turn left onto Park Street. No street sign will be evident. For directions to the specific residence halls and parking directions see below.

2. Traveling North on Route 11

Route 11 will become Main Street in Canton. At the main traffic light in the village (the American Movie Theatre will be on your right), turn right onto Park Street. No street sign will be evident. For directions to the specific residence halls and parking directions see below.

3. Traveling from the Adirondack Mountains on Route 68

The simplest approach to campus is to take Route 68 from Colton. Note: Route 68 takes a sharp right about 3.8 miles from Colton. As you approach the village of Canton, Route 68 intersects with Route 11 at a traffic light. (A Stewart’s dairy store is across the street. Golf course on near left.) Turn left at this light onto Route 11 South. Route 11 will become Main Street in Canton. Drive past the main entrance to campus and into the village. At the main traffic light in the village (the town park is on your left and the movie theatre is across the street and on the left), turn left onto Park Street. No street sign will be evident. 4. Traveling from Canada and/or through Ogdensburg, N.Y.

In Canton, Route 68 North from Ogdensburg will merge with Route 11, which is also Main Street. At the main traffic light in the village (the Post Office and American Movie Theatre will be on your right), turn right onto Park Street. No street sign will not be evident. Once on Park Street:

For Gaines College: proceed about .4 miles down Park Street and turn left onto University Avenue. Make your first right turn onto Romoda Drive into campus (no sign) and then follow it around to the left. Turn left after the parking lot on your left. Gaines would be the second building on your left if you were to proceed straight. There is a parking lot behind Gaines – Lot I. The entrance will be to your right.

For Priest and Reiff Colleges: proceed .6 miles down Park and turn right on Maple St., just before the SLU Brewer Bookstore. Priest and Reiff colleges are directly on your right, parking is behind each of the buildings – Lot F. To get to the parking lot, proceed past the buildings and turn right onto Mechanic Street. The entrance to the parking lot will be to your right.

For all other FYP colleges: proceed .8 miles down Park, past the athletic complex, and turn left just before the wood bridge. This entrance will be well-marked. Continue on that road and turn left when you see the security gate. Proceed through that gate. Lee Hall will be first on your right, followed by Rebert Hall on your right, and then Whitman Hall on your right.

Parking for Lee is in Lots C or J. Lot C is to your right immediately before the security gate. Lot J is located at the well-marked entrance to your building. For Lee Hall, after you have unloaded, go back out the security gate and park in either Lot C or J.

Parking for Rebert and Whitman Halls is behind the buildings in Lot B. To get to Lot B, proceed past Rebert and Whitman Halls. Then continue past the next building on your right, Griffiths Art Center. Turn right immediately after going through the posts. Take the next road on your right, just past Hulett and Jencks Halls. Proceed to the end of that road which ends at Lot B. Whitman and Rebert Halls are over the rise.

Please move your vehicle to your designated parking lot to give other students and parents a space to unload their vehicles. Thank you.
