This fall we will offer FILM 211: Introduction to Film Studies (HU), which is appropriate for first-year students. This course serves as an introductory course for the film studies minor, gives Humanities distribution credit, and supports the interests of those students who love film and filmmaking. In FILM 211, students learn not only how a film is constructed, but also how the techniques employed contribute to its values and meaning.

The course available this fall and appropriate for first-year students, subject to the availability of seats, are:

  • FILM 211: Introduction to Film Studies (HU)
  • FILM/ASIA/LTRN 232: Cultures of China: Fiction and Film (HU)
  • FILM 251: History of Cinema
  • FILM/ASIA 271: World Cinema with Lab (HU)
  • FILM/MUSIC 281: Music Video (ARTS)
