"Mom's and Dad's Recipes Go to College." That's how Joan Lunden of Good Morning America introduced a feature story on our parent recipe program. We have even published a cookbook of favorite parents' recipes.
We invite you to join the program. We're always searching for new ideas for our dining hall menus. Often we hear students say, "My Mom makes the best spaghetti I ever had!", or "Why can't you make barbecued chicken as well as Dad can?" In 1987, we began to take students at their word. We invited parents to send recipes from home and the result has been terrific!
Each summer, St. Lawrence University parents and alumni welcome our incoming first-year students and their families to a send-off event. The summer send-off events are hosted throughout the Northeast and are made possible by the generosity of our alumni and parents. There is no charge for any of these events and we welcome you to attend any send-off event that you can. This is a great opportunity to meet other incoming students from the Class of 2017, as well as some of our outstanding alumni and parents.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) provides that a college or university cannot release a student’s grades or academic information to parent(s) or guardian(s) without the student’s written authorization.
Complete this form if you wish to authorize the University to release such information. Note that this does not authorize a parent to act on a student's behalf.
Automobile registration is mandatory for all vehicles being driven and parked on any University property. Please complete a form for each vehicle to be registered. The registration fee is $80 annually. This fee is billed and collected in the business office. For new students, decals will be provided at Orientation.
Please wait until you have received your housing assignment before filling this form out.
This information is important in assigning roommate preferences. Please take time to sit down and think critically about the type of person you want to live with for your first year at St. Lawrence.
What are your likes and dislikes? What are you looking for in a roommate? (See question 10.) To give us the maximum potential for assigning you a compatible roommate, please be honest and thorough when answering these questions.
Most first-year students take their FYP and three other courses during their fall semester. Late in June, you will be registered for one or two of your fall courses (in addition to your First-Year Program course). You will be sent notification of this registration by mail in early July with your FYP placement and housing. You will register for your other courses on campus during Orientation in August when you meet with your advisor.
