Introduction

in

“As I gained a deeper appreciation for another culture, I began to realize that there were multiple ways to solve any challenge. Perhaps most significantly, while living in Kenya, I gained a deeper understanding of myself-my likes and dislikes as well as my strengths and shortcomings.”

Alumni Reflections

in

“Quite honestly, every day of my KSP experience reaffirmed my desire to work and live in Africa. Kenyans are warm and hospitable and their land is beautiful.  I have been able to draw upon the KSP as the backbone of my career in international development.”

Coming Home

in

“I can safely say the KSP fundamentally changed the way I thought and helped me to figure out what I wanted to do in life, which is something every college student struggles with even after graduating.”

The Kenya-SLU Connection

in

“My time in Kenya with the KSP has paved my entire way in life; bringing me to where I am right now in my career, and molding me into the person I have come to be.”

The SLU Program in Kenya began with a January term in 1972 and has operated a semester program since 1974.  In 2005 we added a summer program. During this time, nearly 1900 students have participated from more than 30 colleges and universities.

Frequently Asked Questions
